What started as a dreamlike fast and smooth check in is turning out to be a nightmare. So many hiccups we never experienced before in other cruise lines. They re-routed the itinerary twice so we missed the chance to go to France. Worse, they charged us more on the same pre-paid excursion to Bruges as they docked in another port. When we asked why we are being penalized with a higher fee, we were told it was an act of God. Information is so lacking and the daily information given to us was even in Russian. Passport control was a total mess. They lost our passport the first time and we had to stand in line for 2 hours before they found them. The second time around which was unusual to have passport control twice, we almost got suffocated as there was no control at all and the line was not moving at all for more than an hour so we had to get out of the line. Beyond imagination to spend 1 day out of 7 days on passport control alone. Another MSC cruise in the future? We very much doubt it!
It was a very stressful day. We had to spend almost half a day on passport control. There was practically no control at the queue bordering on being chaotic. Nonetheless, we chose to be happy and joyful with our brothers and sisters. The day actually started to be really nice. The sea was a lot calmer and again, the Pinoy breakfast was excellent courtesy of our kababayan cook and servers. We had tortang talong with ground meat and again, it was a real treat We chose to forget the mayhem and disarray during mid-day. We were unyielding in our efforts to be joyful. Count your blessings as they say and no one and nothing can spoil the day with our brothers and sisters. Some in the group took excursions while the others stayed behind to take a much needed nap. In the evening, we watched Alice in Wonderland and later we joined the gala night dinner in formal attire. By the end of the day, only the good memories, jokes and laughter remained. Nothing really beats cruising with CFC brothers and sisters!
