It was an impressive but a bit daunting day for everyone. It started in the wee hours of the morning when some stayed after a non stop dancing on the floor to see the ship slowly sailing. With a few hours of sleep, everyone was ready for the new day. What better way to start the day was a breakfast of Tapsilog courtesy of the Pinoy cook and servers. We must have hungered for pinoy food and rice that when our server asked if we want "salmon", we heard it as "some more" and to our disappointment it was really smoked salmon. Our OFW kababayans are certainly a great advantage. They were everywhere to delight us and make our cruise special and memorable. There is also really no better way to cruise than among friends. You hear each other's experience and you roar to laughter. Bro Pat related their experience on their way to Auschwitz from Prague and they had to make a washroom stop. Unfortunately, they did not have any Polish currency and they can not do number one and were told- "no money, no pee" and Pat who can no longer hold it countered with "pee now pay later" They also had an unusual experience in Hamburg when there was no room at the inn. We were told that Rolling Stones were performing in the city that night. They could not get hotel rooms at reasonable rates so they have to settle in a hostel and six of them have to cramp themselves in a small room with one bathroom and in bunk beds. No amenities at all. They had to pay separately also for towels and bedsheets and endured all the snoring. After breakfast, we went through a mandatory face check of our passports by British border guards. It was an agonizing experience for Becky and I as the MSC crew misplaced our passports. We had to stand in line for more than an hour when finally they found them in another deck section. We are starting to get unhappy with MSC. They have re-routed the cruise itinerary at the last minute and we only got our voucher of free drinks late this afternoon. Worse, we got our daily info sheet in Russian. There were some stressful and worrisome moments as well. Becky and I lost each other. We were supposed to see each other in front of the theatre but miscommunications along the way and we spent about 45 minutes finding the other. What brightened the day was the 34th anniversary celebration of Bro Boyet and sis Becky. The celebration continued with a live band dishing ABBA music And surely the evening turned out to be lovely and wonderful with our brothers and sisters.
