Playwright Bienvenido M. Noriega , Jr. delved also on musical plays. He wrote a play on the life and times of famous composer Nicanor Abelardo, titled “Bituing Marikit”. It was staged at the Tanghalang Huseng Batute of the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 1995. Bart Guingona played the part of Nicanor Abelardo and it was directed by Nonon Padilla.
Bituing Marikt was first staged at the CCP Tanghalang Huseng Batute in 1987, directed by the late Pio de Castro III. Ward Luarca played Abelardo.
