This was an unusual travel for us. It was supposed to be an official business trip but managed to include a lot of leisure activities especially for Becky. It turned out to be almost an all expense paid trip as well. I converted my Business Class ticket for 2 economy tickets and used my food and per diem allowance to cover our daily expenses. We stayed almost a month In Hyatt Sidney and again under company expense. I was working then with Sandoz Philippines (now Novartis) as Production and Logistics Director and was sent (actually chosen by me) to Sandoz Australia for Plant training. I chose the first shift schedule for the training so we had almost the whole afternoon and weekends to roam around. Becky must have seen every nook and corner of Sidney as every day I am off for training, she will get out of the hotel and visit nearby parks, malls and other local sites.
We will however venture out together on weekends. We have visited the Sidney Opera House with its distinctive sail like design, the huge and leisure complex, Darling Harbour and the iconic Surf Bondi Beach. We also went to the Taronga Zoo and explored the China town night markets.
On a weekend, we flew to Canberra and did a city tour. We visited the Australian War Memorial, the National Gallery and the Parliament House. Sidney is the capital of New South Wales while Canberra is the seat of government and the capital city of Australia.
